Mourning Ceremony Consecrated To Tragic Events In South Ossetia

Mourning ceremony consecrated to commemoration of victims of Georgian aggression in South Ossetia was held in the Embassy of Russia in Mexico.

Leaders of the diplomatic mission, employees of some Russian state institutions and schoolchildren of the Embassy school laid flowers to a memorial stand with photographs from destroyed Tskhinval.

These events attracted attention of the Mexican community. A mourning newspaper report was placed in one of the central newspapers of Mexico “El sol de Mexico” and its regional editions dating September, 18. Deputies of General Congress of Mexico – members of Group of friendship with Russia honored the memory of victims of this conflict during their visit to the Russian Embassy.

The representatives of Mexican religious circles also took part in the events dedicated to the tragedy in South Ossetia. Funeral services consecrated to the victims of Georgian aggression were held in the cell of Russian Orthodox Church Abroad and in the Temple of St. George (Lebanon Orthodox church) in Mexico-City.
