OPENING CEREMONY OF HONORABLE CONSULATE
On November, 27th of 2009 in the city of Guadalajara (Jalisko state) was hold the opening solemn ceremony of the second Honorable Consulate of the Russian Federation in Mexico. Mexican businessman Juan Santos Sanchez Navarro has been appointed as the Honorable Consul in Guadalajara. In his introductory speech he declared that he will try to do his best to co-operate with the Russian compatriots living in this state, and would like to see as much as possible Russian tourists and the businessmen visiting Guadalajara and state of Jalisko. He stressed that now we have many unused opportunities for development of collaboration between Russia and. "I think that so influential powers as Russia and Mexico which is one of the largest countries in Latin America by its economic potential, can essentially expand bilateral cooperation", - the has specified the Honorable Consul of Russia.
Antonio Gloria, the Official representative of the governor of State during his speech underlined that opening of Honorable Consulate in Guadalajara will allow to expand communications between Russia and Mexico not only in sphere of tourism, but also in such areas as culture, science and education. In welcome address, the Ambassador of Russia in Mexico Valery I. Morozov has noticed that the Russian side attaches great importance to this event and expects that Consulate work will promote development and strengthening economic, trading and a cultural contact between two countries. «Next year there’ll be 120 years from the moment of an establishment of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Russia, and bilateral cooperation becomes each time more and more wide and diversified. The fact that we open the second Honorable Consulate in Guadalajara is not casual. Among other Mexican states Jalisko has the highest level of priority for us. It is very important and attractive due to the geographical arrangement, natural beauty and the various and highly developed tourist infrastructure. In total at the territory of State operates 42 Honorable consulates of the foreign countries.
